Tressa L. Robbins (aka @tressalynne)
Brief summary: Strategic communications and marketing leader with experience in communications strategy and implementation, content creation and management, copywriting, social media strategy and management, public relations and content marketing, new customer onboarding, customer advocacy, administrative management and support. Experienced remote worker with a strong work ethic. Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrated leadership, time management and cross-functional team coordination.
More about me: I am a solution-oriented, customer-centric communications leader working directly with clients and ensuring they know to leverage all the tools available to them. My ability to empathize and put myself in others’ shoes allows me to be an exceptional customer advocate and liaison throughout the onboarding (training) and education process.
I’m curiosity-driven and a voracious reader. As an autodidact, I know lifelong learning isn’t just a buzzword–it’s reality. No one can afford to be complacent; we have to keep learning as the digital landscape rapidly changes.
I have a passion for new technology and am an ‘early adopter.’ I enjoy a challenge and am not afraid to roll-up my sleeves and dive in, or to identify where resources may be needed and offer to contribute to making that happen.
Having worked remotely (since back when it was called telecommuting), I understand and appreciate how critical comprehensive cross-team communication and collaboration is to an organization’s overall success.
Articles I’ve written have appeared on the Burrelles Fresh Ideas blog, PR Daily, HubSpot, Spin Sucks, and others. In addition to writing, I speak at national and regional PR-related events. *For more info, see “Speaker Bio” page.
My side hustle is freelance writing. I create content, write blog posts, write business communications, do ghostwriting, and can take technical documents and translate for user-level clarity.
I’m an active member and past president of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) St. Louis chapter and am professional adviser to Southeast Mo State U PRSSA (collegiate level PRSA). Previously, I served PRSA St. Louis as technology chair, social media manager, national voting delegate, university relations liaison, event coordinator, and as the 2015 PRSA Midwest District Conference Chair. I’ve also been a guest instructor at Southeast and currently serve on the university Mass Media Dept. Professional Advisory Council. I am also a member of PRCA, the world’s largest public relations professional organization with a presence in 66 countries worldwide.
On the personal front: As a remote worker, I get to enjoy amazing views of the Ozark Foothills from my home office (our property is adjacent to Clearwater Lake and Missouri Conservation land in Southeast Missouri). I love my (rescued) dogs, and enjoy country music, boating, swimming, camp fires and other outdoorsy-type stuff.
